Greenhouse is looking for a Sales Compensation Manager to join our team!

As Greenhouse's first Sales Compensation Manager, you will have the opportunity to build and scale processes for managing commissions across our Sales Development Representative (SDR), Account Executive, and Account Management teams. You will be the primary liaison between the Accounting and Revenue teams, addressing questions about our variable compensation program and partnering with leadership to improve workflows.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare all variable compensation calculations and related journal entries for the Sales Development, Account Executive, and Account Management teams
  • Handle all prepaid and accrued commissions for our US and Dublin based teams
  • Collaborate with our Revenue Operations team to ensure sales team compensation is implemented and calculated within Xactly
  • Partner with Revenue Operations and Financial Planning & Analysis teams to evaluate new compensation plan changes and assess accounting impact and operational feasibility
  • Facilitate recurring onboarding and refresher trainings with the sales team to help them better understand how their pay works
  • Own commission SOX controls, work with external auditors, and implement our commissions accounting policies under GAAP
  • Drive continuous automation to improve the close process and draft process documents for these changes


You should have

  • A solid understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act best practices
  • Experience calculating and paying out commissions for large sales teams
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Netsuite, and Xactly (or comparable systems)
  • An ability to handle reconciliations for prepaid and accrual commissions
  • A demonstrated track record of balancing complex projects and timelines
  • An ability to identify gaps in procedure and recommend improvements 
  • An ability to work autonomously and navigate ambiguity 
  • Strong data manipulation skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • CPA certification, a plus

The ranges added below are for Colorado-based hires only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than CO may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. Pay range: $84,000-$114,000.
