About Team
The Subscription & Payment team plays an important role in Hotstar Subscriber and revenue growth. Our highly scalable distributed platform enables subscribers in different parts of the world to subscribe for the service using a wide range of payment methods. Along with subscription and payment, the team is also responsible for partner-acquisition, coupon and referral service.
Driven by the vision of providing our customers flexible subscription and seamless payment options our team is building a next generation subscription platform which will allow Hotstar business to quickly launch new plans and increase revenue by doubling our subscriber base. We are looking for an engineering manager who wants to join us in this ambiguous journey.

Job Description 
We are looking for an experienced software development manager who is interested in building the next generation of subscription system that supports numerous countries and partners. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering some of our most strategic technical projects, deliver large scale systems, design new software systems at the cutting edge of distributed system and database technologies and have a significant revenue growth and bottom-line impact on our business.
As a Software Development Manager, you will be part of the technical leadership community at Hotstar. This community forms the backbone of the company, plays a critical role in the broad business planning, working closely with senior executives to develop business targets and resource requirements, influences our long-term technical and business strategy, helps us hire talented team of engineers and ultimately enables us to deliver innovative new solutions rapidly.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership throughout product life cycles, influence software engineering best practices for your team and own operational metrics
  • Work with business leaders and product managers to define product requirements.
  • Prioritize, communicate, maintain, and execute roadmaps, project plans, and commitments
  • Work with engineers to define technical requirements and architect and execute best-in-class implementations in agile manner
  • Build and maintain world-class customer experience and operational excellence for your deliverables
  • Hire, manage, mentor and grow a high performance team of Software Engineers
  • What to Bring

  • 7+ years of relevant engineering experience 
  • 1+ years of people management experience, managing engineers 
  • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as Java, Scala, Golang etc 
  • Experience in partnering with product and other engineering teams
  • Knowledge of Agile principles to run the development lifecycle for team’s applications and services.
  • Experience in executing project plans and delivery commitments.
  • Experience in Staffing, mentoring and managing a best-of-class software development teams.
