As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be leading the Mechanical Engineering Team at Impossible to optimize performance, manufacturability and reliability of existing and future vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities
Hire and manage a group of five senior and entry-level mechanical engineersEnsure team’s awareness of customer needs and requirements - provide leadership in developing new aircraft concepts as well as continuously improving the existing design to meet those needsDeep technical involvement and actual design work is expected for this roleTeam generation of formal design documentation, review, and control (e.g. design reviews, ECOs, etc.)Project planningSupply chain strategy and managementTechnical Requirements
B.S. in mechanical engineering or another relevant disciplineStrong knowledge of at least one major CAD package including part, surfacing, and assembly designWorking knowledge of electronic components, circuits and electro-mechanical systemsExperience with mechanical part and system design, prototyping, testing and mass productionPassion for lightweight structural designStrong GD&T and mechanical drawing experienceWorking knowledge of material science and selection10+ years working experience in the design and manufacturing fieldExperience transitioning products from prototype to productionExperience leading an engineering design teamNice-to-Haves
