A Backend (Scala) Engineer in Insider day in and day out:

  • designs, implements and maintains APIs and services,
  • collaborates with other engineers and teams to build new features at scale,
  • debugs issues across services and multiple levels of the stack,
  • monitors performance, throughput, latency and SLA to build and maintain the services.

    • We want you to join us while we are taking a step into the future if you:

  • graduated from Computer Engineering or a similar department,
  • have experience developing microservices using Scala, preferably Akka, Java,
  • have good knowledge in developing or managing event-driven architecture or microservices,
  • have experience with NoSQL databases in a production environment such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra/ScyllaDB, Redis, etc.,
  • have 2+ years of experience in building/operating highly available APIs,
  • have good knowledge of software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations,
  • preferably have experience with AWS or other cloud services,
  • preferably have experience developing Serverless technologies or working with technologies such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, Kinesis,
  • preferably have experience with machine learning platforms,
  • have advanced English skills.
