*Temporary Full-Time Remote Opportunity (3 month contract) 

As a member of the Central Operations team, the Patient Eligibility Specialist (known internally as the Analyst, Patient Eligibility)  will be responsible for working with patients and insurance plans to ensure that all patients are assigned to Iora for the duration of their care. This position is ideal for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who is detail-oriented and not afraid to keep trying.

Specific Responsibilities & Expectations

The Patient Eligibility Analyst will serve as an advocate for Iora patients to ensure that they are assigned to Iora with their insurance plans for the duration of their care. Specific responsibilities include:

    • Reviewing online reports to identify patients who need to have their primary care provider updated
    • Calling patients to help them change their provider to Iora with their insurance plan by phone or online
    • Communicating with insurance companies to resolve issues with patient eligibility
    • Documenting eligibility activity in salesforce.com in a timely and accurate manner
    • Following communication “scripts” when handling different topics
    • Escalating issues to the appropriate individual per documented protocols
    • Listening for indications of patient dissatisfaction, and completing the outlined service recovery steps in order to help Iora retain the patient
    • Partnering with the Finance team to ensure that Iora is receiving the appropriate payment for all patients 

The successful candidate will be:

  • Proficient in keyboarding
  • Comfortable cold-calling people and giving instructions over the phone
  • A great listener & adaptable to people’s communication styles
  • Dependable, accurate and detail-oriented with their work
  • A self-starter. Can work without direct supervision/oversight 
  • Highly committed to Iora’s success and the delivery of great patient care through excellent management of Iora’s systems and processes

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Proficient with computers 
  • Previous experience in service roles interacting with customers (sales, customer service, retail, restaurants, etc) desired
  • Have worked in fast-paced, results-driven work atmosphere
  • Experience using  salesforce.com or similar CRM tools, preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of the health insurance industry, preferred but not required
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
