About the role:
The Head of Investments will build out and oversee a team of experienced investment professionals responsible for investing and driving yield across our fiat and crypto balances, securities’ investments and FX execution while maintaining a best in class risk management culture in support of the growth and success of Kraken.
What you will do:
Build out and oversee trading and investment activities for TreasuryIdentify and implement trading strategies to capture opportunities within the cryptocurrency (Spot, Altcoins derivatives, DeFI) and fixed income markets in line with investment objectives and constraintsEstablish a framework for evaluating opportunities across various strategiesDemonstrate exceptional proficiency in managing portfolio riskPerform ongoing monitoring of investment portfolio including risk reporting, trade ideas and asset allocation analyses.Develop, maintain and enhance trading models, algorithms and systemsOwn and ensure compliance with the enterprise-wide investment policy and standards; establishing the requirements for delivering investment returns across fiat, crypto and securities’ portfoliosUnderstand the impact of investment decisions and positions on the overall liquidity of the balance sheet and risk/return trade-offs.Cross functional coordination with the other Finance functions, products, business lines, risk managementResponsible for FX and interest rate risk hedge executionParticipate on the Balance Sheet Management Committee(BSMC) including preparation materials for discussionPerform other duties as assignedWho you are:
Minimum 10+ years of investment experience within financial services, investment management firm, fund complex or TreasuryMinimum 5 years of relevant work experience (eg. investment / trading cryptocurrency markets - Spot, derivatives, DeFI) with a track record of generating alpha; Extremely strong FX trading experience may be considered.Advanced Quantitative degree in Finance or other quantitative field (eg. mathematics, physics, statistics, etc.) Ph.d/ MBA Preferred.Technically proficient (Python, SQL, C++, Rust, Go, etc.)Experience building, implementing trading bots including risk parametersStrong knowledge of digital assets, blockchain technologies, and decentralized finance (DeFI) protocols (liquidity pools, yield farming, staking, smart contracts, NFTs)Experience trading cryptocurrency markets (Spot, derivatives, DeFI) and using various liquidity infrastructure (exchanges and custody platforms).Experience working with engineers; ability to communicate effectively across functions.Ability to manage a team in a virtual/remote setting across multiple time zonesPrior experience with and knowledge of treasury products, interest rate risk / ALM management a plus.Location tagging #US
