About the Role
The Managing Director - North America role will provide strategic direction and oversee day-to-day operations for the US and Canada. He/she will influence multiple business lines, millions of customers, and over a billion dollars of revenue. Reporting to Kraken’s Global Chief Operating Officer, the MD North America will manage a high profile leadership team consisting of several country level managing directors.
Responsibilities
Build and oversee Kraken’s businesses across North America and drive teams towards market leading growthProvide oversight and guidance for business strategy for existing businesses in the US and Canada, maximizing product/service opportunities, growth, and profitabilityIdentify and hire talent for leading expansion into new regionsCollaborate with the Product and Engineering functions to bring best-in-class products and services to marketCoordinate and execute a go-to-market strategy in partnership with Sales and MarketingOversee local compliance teams and coordinate with Global Compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirementsConduct reviews of financial performance with regional leaders and ensure financial statements and reporting practices are of the highest qualityEngage with regulators to obtain and maintain regulatory licenses and advocate for the crypto industryRequirements
Track record of owning and successfully growing a P&L in a general management or other leadership role, especially in a late stage, pre-IPO environmentExperience overseeing a licensed financial services business in a relevant industry, e.g. Crypto/Blockchain, FinTech, Brokerage/ Exchange, Financial Services, BankDeep knowledge of financial products and regulatory compliance in North America, including AML and capital marketsPrevious experience owning relationships with financial regulators in North America, on behalf of a commercial entityTrack record of collaborating successfully with other functional areas of business, e.g. strategy, operations, sales, marketing, product, finance, etc.Proven experience bringing new products and services to market via collaboration with product and engineering teamsStrong command of financial statements and fiduciary dutiesExperience managing and navigating board relationshipsStrong operational and project management expertise, process optimization skillsAbility to effectively communicate with C-suite and board-level audiencesStrong analytical expertise, data driven decision making skills, and mastery of financial modelsStrong interest in and/or knowledge of cryptocurrency a major plusWe’re powered by people from around the world with their own unique and diverse experiences.
