 About the Role:
Kraken is growing and as a result our compliance team, comprised of talented and motivated individuals, is rapidly expanding as well. We are looking for a capable compliance associate to join the CDD team and specialise in NFT-related compliance and content moderation activities. We require an individual that is looking to expand their knowledge of this industry and help our team of motivated financial/technology professionals navigate this rapidly growing crypto sphere.  
Kraken is looking for a NFT Compliance Associate; they should have the demonstrated ability to assess customer risk in escalated cases, communicate policy and procedures to various Client Engagement teams, proactively identify risks factors associated with an NFT Collections, review NFT marketplace flagged content and support management as appropriate. 
The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively between multiple teams in the organisation.
They should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and they are committed to the values of teamwork, integrity, and adaptability.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to internal escalations and queries regarding NFT Compliance procedures and policies for Client Engagement teams.
  • Evaluate and whitelist Curated NFT Collections and form a recommendation on a case-by-case basis. 
  • Conduct open source research and conduct in depth due diligence reviews.
  • Conduct DMCA Reporting for flagged content. 
  • Manage and track various communication channels and provide timely responses to all stakeholders.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and new regulatory proposals dynamically that could have a noteworthy impact on our team’s efficiency and develop workflow efficiencies.
  • Familiarise yourself with the inter-department responsibilities.Perform due diligence checks on customers as required.
  • Communicate effectively to coordinate cross-functional projects.
  • Perform research in support of ad-hoc compliance projects.

    • Requirements:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1 year experience in a compliance or content moderation role.
  •  Basic knowledge of NFT industry, NFT marketplace functionality, international KYC requirements and standard AML requirements for a financial institution or equivalent.
  •  Passionate and in the weeds with NFT development (active participant in the of Twitter/Discord NFT communities/groups).
  • Ability to locate NFT project data in other platforms.
  • Familiar with international sanctions and/or various government watchlists.
  • Familiarity with global Art or luxury goods regulation. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent analytical/problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities on a daily basis, take ownership of work product, and consistently deliver results.
  • Adaptability to global business needs, and ability to work in a rapidly changing regulatory environment.
