About The Role

We will consider candidates at all experience levels. This is a fully remote role and we will consider applicants based throughout the world. 

The Product Manager will be responsible for the research, evaluation and product management of Bitcoin and Lightning platform services at Kraken. Bitcoin and Lightning are an important part of the foundation of Kraken’s entire business and this role is squarely focused on improving the user experience and capabilities around both technologies through product and platform development. 

The successful candidate should thrive in a security-focused, collaborative, process-driven environment and be able to easily adapt and adjust to change without sacrificing the product vision. The position requires interaction with a wide variety of internal stakeholders at various levels of the organization. Candidates must possess the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind decisions to business, compliance, technology and client-facing stakeholders. They must also have exceptional project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Kraken’s Bitcoin and Lightning infrastructure and platform products
  • Manage all client facing aspects of Bitcoin and Lightning on the exchange including improving usage and adoption
  • Drive product launches including working with cross-functional teams on integration of Bitcoin platform as well as messaging and goals
  • Work with the technology, legal and compliance teams on the planning, launch and maintenance of Bitcoin infrastructure
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to define and iterate on cutting edge products
  • Engage with external third parties within the Bitcoin ecosystem for improving Kraken products and partnerships
  • Performance tracking, KPI management and analysis in collaboration with business teams
  • Plan relevant testing phases, rollout and product delivery
  • Facilitate communication across all project phases and proactively alert management of changes to scope, timelines and resources 

    • Requirements

  • Deep understanding of Bitcoin and Lightning, their roadmaps, community and the potential impact of new features and improvements to Kraken customers
  • Awareness and comprehension of existing and upcoming Bitcoin and Lightning specifications plus ongoing research in the area
  • Understanding of the compliance and regulatory requirements
  • 3-5 years of relevant product management experience
  • Knowledge of the cryptocurrency exchange space
  • Expertise in data gathering and quantitative analysis
  • Solution oriented, highly-motivated and proactive self-starter 
  • Macro-to-micro versatility: strategic mindset coupled with a keen attention to detail 
  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with diverse personalities 
  • Deep understanding of project management principles and best practices 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
