About the Role
This role is fully remote within the United States. Per the listed requirement for US state bar admission, we will consider US-based applicants.
Responsibilities
Partner with business and legal teams, advising on agreements and terms related to products, banking services, and financial services partners and vendorsCounsel and advise on risks and opportunities associated with financial products and services, relationships, and risksDraft and negotiate agreements related to financial services and other commercial transactionsAct as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders in understanding and interpreting proposed and final contract terms (both business and legal)Develop and update form contracts, playbooks, and guidelinesWork and coordinate cross-departmentally with diverse Kraken teams in compliance, marketing, finance, tax, security, regional operations, business and corporate development, and executive leadershipUse a highly regulated and well-resourced environment to your strategic commercial advantageDevelop strategies for addressing risk in business-centric ways and build commercial processes that allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quicklyRequirements
10+ years of relevant experience negotiating financial services transactions, whether in-house or at a top law firmJD degree and membership (in good standing) in a US state barExperience or interest in structuring, drafting, and negotiating various types of commercial and licensing agreements, including technology-related agreements, terms of service and privacy policies, partnership agreements, and general commercial contractsInterest in the crypto industry / what our company is offering to the world and whyAlignment with company culture: please review Kraken Culture Explained and be sure that you feel good about working with our different and unique ways of working togetherStrong analytical, writing, and organizational skillsMindset that is team-oriented, plus proactive and entrepreneurial: an opportunity-making person who uses the law to increase the company’s optionality, not decrease itLocation Tagging: #US
