About the Role

The Strategy Analyst acts as a liaison between all lines of business at Kraken Bank and as an interface to Payward Inc., the parent company. The analyst will focus on defining the business requirements for new products and improving bank system efficiencies. This position provides technical / non-technical support for users of bank systems/applications, and requires a generalist skillset with cross-domain proficiency.  This position requires radical ownership of new business initiatives from inception through delivery, comfort in new environments, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a liaison between the lines of business at Kraken Bank and the parent company, Payward Inc.
  • Responsible for defining new business initiatives that incorporate the requirements from all Bank stakeholders, inline with the Bank’s formal PDLC process, and then providing recommendations on the most viable path forward.
  • Establish close relationships with critical and prospective Bank vendors. 
  • Must be a self-starter, and able to operate independently.
  • Prepare well for all meetings, communicate well across the organization to all stakeholders.
  • Produce excellent written communication. 
  • Communicate regularly with staff and employees regarding status, coding changes, procedure updates, etc.
  • Thoroughly document all policies and procedures.
  • Cross-train other business analysts as needed, and be available to be cross-trained.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and potential impact on the support business.
  • Provide oversight and product expertise for all banking systems.  This includes maintaining systems and troubleshooting system issues. 
  • Data analysis & provision of data-informed recommendations. Development of metrics to measure success of various initiatives

    • Requirements

  • Prior work experience at a Financial Institution in the Digital Assets industry preferred.
  • Superior ability to assess risk and exercise judgment concerning complex problems.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional Financial Services industry standards and best practices related to banking systems.
  • Excellent investigative, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent ability to recognize control weaknesses and opportunities for process/operational improvements and develop viable risk mitigation strategies.
