What You'll Do:

LogicMonitor is looking for a talented and experienced Monitoring Engineering Manager to lead the team that creates and develops core monitoring modules (DataSources, EventSources, ConfigSources, PropertySources, SysOID Maps, AppliesTo Functions). You will be driving the Monitoring Engineering (ME) team and overseeing their output.

You will work in tandem with the Monitoring Team, Product, Support, Professional Services, and our customers to cultivate the creation and maintenance of meaningful, actionable monitoring in a logical and consistent way. It is key that you champion internal and vendor best practices. This role provides plenty of opportunity to make your mark at LogicMonitor as we already own 2000+ modules and are continuously producing new modules to support the ever growing infrastructure monitoring industry.

  • Cultivate a high performing team
  • Prioritize work based on input from customers and internal teams
  • Continually improve guidelines and process for module development and documentation
  • Track and calculate KPIs on a quarterly basis to forecast team resource needs and track work output
  • Oversee the release of new monitoring, ensuring adherence to style guides, and adequate documentation
  • Work cooperatively with Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, and Engineering groups to deliver technically apt solutions
  • Continually develop deep understanding of LogicMonitor technologies to devise high-level custom monitoring strategies
  • Provide exceptional service to customers during the course of development (timely emails and calls to clients, professional/courteous services, etc.).
  • End-to-end management of the LogicModule request process, using our ticketing system to follow development through to completion
  • Educate colleagues and customers by creating both internal and customer-facing documentation
What You'll Need:
  • 2+ years of experience of managing and growing engineering teams, with demonstrated experience leading and managing geographically dispersed teams
  • Understanding of the Monitoring Engineering processes from start to finish.
  • Understanding of IT operations and/or system & network administration
  • Ability for scripting in any of the prevalent languages (groovy, ruby, python, perl, javascript, etc.)
  • Understanding of IT operations infrastructure and how the various roles are related (networks, servers, storage devices, databases, applications, etc.)
  • Passion for technical problem solving with IT systems and networks
  • Ability to conduct independent research on unfamiliar technologies and digest that knowledge into monitoring strategy
  • Ability to grasp big-picture needs and distill these down into actionable tasks – frequently with an obsessive-compulsive attention to detail
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment & continuous integration / continuous delivery methodologies
  • Experience in building enterprise products delivered via SaaS
