The role in a nutshell

  • You will report into Luno’s Internal Communications Lead, meet Sophie Hinder-Walbank. Your role will sit in the People Community team, which forms part of the wider People function at Luno, and is responsible for global internal communications, events, community, culture, engagement & wellbeing. 

 

Your mission will involve 

  • Supporting the Internal Communications Lead to deliver fresh and inspirational content as part of Luno’s internal communications strategy, seeking to inform, inspire and motivate employees via the full suite of internal media, including video, email, Slack, podcasts, and our internal wiki.
  • Exploring new and innovative ways to communicate with employees using multimedia and design tools.
  • Ensuring high standards of writing and production are maintained. This includes continuous monitoring and evaluation of internal communications content to ensure it continues to meet our internal customers' needs.
  • Encouraging employee-generated content and supporting our internal influencers to tell the Luno story via internal channels with a consistent message, supporting our 'One mission, One team' Moontality.
  • Organising global company events including Mission Briefings (All Hands), Luno Showcase sessions and fireside chats.
  • Developing initiatives and programmes that make Luno a great place to work by enhancing the Lunaut community, including the management of social and wellbeing calendars in each region.
  • Managing and editing the content on Buzz, our internal wiki, and coordinating business owners to maintain their own content so it remains relevant and engaging.
  • Supporting the team to provide a professional internal communications function, ensuring a constant focus on delivery against key business objectives.
  • For auditing and evaluation purposes, ensure accurate and timely recording of activity across all internal communications channels, and provide reporting via monthly dashboards.

 

In your first six months, you will

  • Create a content calendar for our internal news round up, The Lunoverse, and be accountable for the delivery of this fortnightly publication.
  • Investigate new and impactful ways to share content that engages multiple internal audiences, by engaging with internal stakeholders in each office.
  • Organise our global company All Hands, Luno Showcase and Creative Series sessions, and support the delivery of our annual Luno Summit.
  • Set-up and coordinate multiple employee resource groups in our local offices, and be accountable for delivering local social calendars. 
  • Support the delivery of our global wellbeing calendar.
  • Develop relationships with internal influencers, encouraging them to generate and share content with their internal network. 
  • Consolidate, make improvements to, and maintain our internal wiki, Buzz.

 

‘ The ideal Lunaut for this role, will have’ 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, ideally with experience working in a growing scale up business. You embrace change and can work with stakeholders across our global office and remote workforce.
  •  2+ years of proven expertise as a marketing or internal communications professional, with a particular interest in the exciting fintech industry. 
  • A creative mindset and knowledge of different internal media, including video, email, Slack, podcasts, and internal wikis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (fluent in English), with a keen eye for detail.
  • Good knowledge of and prior experience using social media platforms (and social media management tools) is desirable. 
  • Good event management skills, with the ability to support the planning and delivery of multiple internal events.
  • Ability to apply critical and creative thinking to create engaging and impactful content that conveys our mission, recognising there is no “one size fits all” approach when communicating with our various internal audiences. 
  • An interest in developing a data-driven approach to scaling our culture. 
  • A relentless curiosity about your craft and will be endlessly passionate about finding new ways to make Luno a great place to work!
