This role in a nutshell:

  • Key areas of responsibility will be the creation of global performance marketing content (also known as “social media/ acquisition/ direct response /digital/ growth marketing” or just “paid social”); once solid foundations are established in that business critical area, your scope will grow to include a wide range of other marketing and communication materials.
  • You will spend the first few months collaborating on the rollout of our new brand (created by world-leading brand design studio, Koto) in growth marketing, and driving a step change in the quality and power of our performance content.
  • As we scale our team and operations, you will support the strategic development of our new mass-market brand voice across global markets. 
  • You will work closely with global marketing teams to understand and deliver on marketing & communications briefs for audiences in markets around the world.
  • You will collaborate with colleagues in all of our global markets, crafting copy in English for anglophone markets such as Australia, Malaysia, South Africa & the US. You will also create value proposition messaging frameworks and key message guidelines that empower localisation / transcreation of your ideas into different cultural contexts and languages from French to Bhasa.
  • You will lead and support campaign rollout & deliver multi-channel design work that’s clear, compelling and on-brand and continuously provide new creative ideas and copy for our significant global performance marketing spend.
  • Zooming out, you will be part of a high performance in-house, cross-functional creative & marketing operation. You will need to interact with and understand multiple business areas from Growth to PR and to constantly flex and develop a broad skillset, from customer insight and ideation to competitor analysis.
  • As a senior member of the team, you will help create and sustain a culture of ongoing copy excellence with a particular focus on the business critical area of performance marketing.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong digital/integrated copywriting experience, including experience working in-house for a digital-first or digitally integrated business (eg. app or ecommerce), or on growth marketing accounts
  • You will have proven your ability to take marketing & communications briefs, ideate creative concepts, clearly communicate a key message and user benefit and deliver effective performance marketing with evidence of growth outcomes
  • Strong understanding of foundational marketing concepts (eg. customer benefit, customer funnel, value proposition) and ability to leverage these into growth marketing strategies
  • A commercial / growth mindset, interest in working with data & insights, comfort with first principles thinking and the “test and learn” approach
  • Experience collaborating with other disciplines and using your craft to drive shared success and business impact.
  • The ability to be persuasive in explaining your work, process, and decisions.
  • Autonomy and excellent organisation and project management skills
  • Evidence of the ability to write with simplicity and power about personal finance, financial products or other complex and regulated products is not required, but is a significant plus

 

Luno is a ‘remote but reachable’ company! At Luno, we trust that people can do their work effectively anywhere and provide Lunauts with the flexibility to decide where they do their best work. For some of us, that’s at home for the majority of the time, for others, that might mean joining other Lunauts in person at one of our Luno workspaces more often. Luno is built on our relationships, so we still value in-person connection and have a minimum expectation of spending time in person once a quarter.
