Position Title: 

Seasonal Production Assistant / Seasonal Distribution Associate 

Hourly Wage 

$15.35-$17.65 per hour  (This includes base wage of $14.35/hr plus $1.00 per hour guaranteed bonus premium until December 31st, 2021 as well as +$1.00/hr premium for PM shift or + $2.30/hr for Overnight/Twilight shifts)

 

All manufacturing, digital and distribution staff will be eligible for an additional $1/hr upon successful completion of their contract (separate to those mentioned above). This is valid for all hours worked as a Lush direct hire, including overtime between October 1-December 31, 2021. This payment will be made as a lump sum on January 23, 2022 to all eligible staff.

Job Posting: Seasonal Production Assistant / Seasonal Distribution Associate

Availability: Full-time with the ability to work mornings, afternoons, overnights, holidays, and weekends.  

We are looking for talented individuals to assist in producing, labeling, bottling, picking, packing & shipping high quality Lush products.  

Lush North America supports more than 250 retail stores in Canada and the USA, and Manufacturing and Distribution Centers located in both Vancouver and Toronto.

What you do (responsibilities): 

  • Practice safe work and identify unsafe situations to the appropriate individuals 
  • Ensure availability to work Full-Time Monday-Friday for either our AM shifts (8.5 hours, ranging 6:30am-4:30pm) or PM shifts (8.5 hours, ranging 3:00pm-12:30am OR Overnight/Twilight Shifts (6 hour shifts, ranging from 10:30pm-6:30am). 
  • Meet and achieve your daily goals consistently 
  • Perform general housekeeping and equipment cleaning duties 
  • Be able to be a part of a fluid and flexible production team and move to other rooms or departments as required  
  • Support new or returning staff as required with onboarding, demonstrating daily duties and responsibilities while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
  • Encourage a positive, respectful, inclusive and diverse workplace 
  • Adhere to company and room policies and best practices for quality, cleanliness and health and safety 
  • Be fluid and flexible to continuous improvement changes within the room/department 
  • Be able to work a variety of shifts that come up due to increase in production demands or to cover last minute shifts 
  • Represent the ethics and culture of the Lush brand and follow all policies and procedures 
  • Assist in producing high quality Lush products 
  • Fill, pour and press product accurately 
  • Pack product and correctly label packages 
  • Keep up with production demands and productivity targets, meeting and achieving goals consistently 
  • Covid19 Screenings upon entering the buildings, along with policies and procedures enforced at all times 
  • Ensure personal face masks and safety shoes/boots are always worn on our production and distribution floors 
  • Have flexibility to work within the Distribution, Digital and Manufacturing businesses as required 

Who you are (qualifications): 

Required: 

  • Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, on your feet and lift 50 pounds 
  • Capable of physical activities such as standing for a long duration, bending down, pulling, and pushing 
  • Achieve your daily goals consistently 
  • Have excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Maintain a positive attitude and engaged in your work 
  • Able to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks 
  • Flexibility to work within the Distribution, Digital and Manufacturing businesses as required 
  • Supports new or returning staff as required with onboarding, demonstrations of daily duties and responsibilities while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed
  • Confident with basic mathematics, ability to count, including addition and subtraction  
  • Open and adaptable to daily feedback on performance 
  • Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual, and dependable  
  • Competency in English: reading, writing and speaking  

Preferred: 

  • Previous experience working in manufacturing, kitchen, bakery  
  • Inventory control, supply chain, distribution, or warehouse experience 
  • Mechanical, equipment and process knowledge 
  • Manufacturing/Distribution experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, or food/beverage industries 
  • Experience with warehouse equipment (picking carts, handheld scanners, pump-trucks) 
  • Forklift, scissor lift, health & safety and first aid certificate 
  • Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high pressure environment 
  • Flexible to work shift work, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime
