Lyft is looking to hire an Accounting Intern. This a crucial role that will assist in overseeing financial reporting and assessing various technical accounting matters in a fast paced, public company environment. The candidate should expect to leverage current skill sets while also focusing on learning quickly and adding value to the current processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of the 10-Q and supporting documents as well as the preparation of footnotes and MD&A and tie-out of financial statements, disclosures, and other external releases
  • Assist in researching technical accounting issues as needed
  • Assist the team with various monthly close process duties
  • Assist in performing responsibilities related to external audits
  • Assist in documentation/implementation of internal controls
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested

Experience

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics or other finance related field with anticipated graduation in 2021
  • Must be returning to school after the internship
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines
  • Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are a must
  • Research and problem solving skills required
  • Highly detail oriented and ability to multitask is a valuable asset
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills – must have significant experience in Microsoft Excel and Google applications
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a larger functional team
