Lyft is looking to hire a qualified and experienced Accounting Manager, focusing on international operations, to its Accounting team. This is a crucial role that will drive the worldwide accounting and consolidation processes within the Controllership team. This role provides significant growth opportunity as it encompasses day to day controllership duties, as well as focuses on a number of project based initiatives to scale the consolidated financial reporting process. The candidate should expect to leverage current skill sets while also focusing on learning quickly and adding value to the current processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing and executing our accounting and consolidation processes within NetSuite and other financial systems, in accordance with the monthly close calendar timelines
  • Develop and implement scalable month end close and consolidation processes to facilitate timely and accurate consolidated financial reporting for our UK, Germany and other international locations
  • Perform monthly revaluations, translations, eliminations for legal entities, and maintain supporting documentation and reconciliations, in line with our consolidations process
  • Implement best practices for financial reporting processes related to month end close, consolidations, including all intercompany, foreign currency and transfer pricing transactions 
  • Assist in reviewing portions of the balance sheet and income statement, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and flux analyses
  • Assist in managing external audit, including preparation/review of audit requests and ongoing support
  • Assist in documentation/implementation of internal controls and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements
  • Actively participate and collaborate on system implementations and special projects
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested

Experience:

  • 4 year degree in Accounting/Finance and CPA, chartered accountant, CIMA or other local license preferred
  • 7+ years in Accounting, including Big 4 accounting firms and/or larger multinational organizations experience 
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are a must
  • Accounting research and problem solving skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask 
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills – must have significant experience in Microsoft and Google applications; Oracle, NetSuite and Coupa are strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a larger functional team
