Lyft is seeking an experienced AR Operations Lead to manage our collection efforts while maintaining excellent relationships with our customers, internal finance leadership, and cross-functional business partners.  The AR Operations Lead will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of collectors whose mission is to exceed monthly/quarterly/annual collection targets.  This is a “hands-on” role that requires a candidate that is willing and able to roll up his or her sleeves to accomplish goals.  This person will work directly with our strategic customers on issue resolution, escalation and timely payment.  Our goal is to offer a world class experience for our customers from order to cash. This role is pertinent in making that happen!

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that team members are properly trained in our processes and fully utilizing available tools and reports
  • Prepare monthly cash forecasts and assign cash goals for each collector
  • Ensure invoices are uploaded to third party bill systems on time and accurately
  • Develop documentation and procedures for the credit & collection process
  • Create a team environment that embraces process improvements, risk-taking and change
  • Hold team accountable by meeting with each collector on a regular basis to review the status of outstanding balances and to identify accounts that require escalation
  • Provide regular and candid feedback to each direct report including annual performance evaluations
  • Meet or exceed targeted collections metrics, reducing past due balances, bad debt reserve exposure, and other quantitative targets
  • Assist the cash applications department with resolving pertinent payment application discrepancies ensuring adjustments are completed in a timely fashion
  • Follow through on all collection issues, including but not limited to, the research of incorrectly billed invoices and resolving client discrepancies, as well as partial payments
  • Make collection calls and/or generate correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department
  • Continually review department processes to determine ways to increase productivity and cash flow
  • Create reports and provide data analysis on customer accounts, as needed
  • Maintain, perform internal control procedures for collections and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
  • Support audit efforts and assist with special projects as needed

 Experience:

  • 4+ years of previous Accounts Receivable experience required; 5+ years working on large, strategic accounts preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Able to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Commitment to excellent customer service for both internal and external customers
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Goal oriented with strong communication, attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
  • Willingness to work in a paperless environment
  • Experience with Netsuite, Salesforce, G-Suite, and Oracle preferred
  • Oracle system implementation experience preferred
