At Lyft, community is what we are and it’s what we do. It’s what makes us different. To create the best ride for all, we start in our own community by creating an open, inclusive, and diverse organization where all team members are recognized for what they bring.

Data is at the heart of how Lyft makes business and product decisions. We’re looking for passionate science managers to come work alongside us to take on some of the most interesting and impactful problems in ridesharing. You’ll be working in a dynamic environment, where we embrace moving quickly to build the world’s best transportation.

As Lyft’s business has become increasingly complex, there’s been a growing need to bring data-driven rigor and a regional lens to running our unique markets.  As a Regional Lead, you will take ownership of the success of a significant portion of Lyft’s business. You will manage a distributed team of Regional Data Scientists who partner with Science, Product, and Operations teams at Lyft to analyze a variety of problems ranging from understanding our passengers and drivers, to ensuring we have an efficient marketplace, to optimizing how we run our growth incentives.  These actionable recommendations will be both strategic as well as tactical, ultimately influencing how Lyft invests millions of dollars.

You’ll also be responsible for building and promoting Lyft’s analytics frameworks, mentoring, training, and leading a team of Regional Data Scientists, and building relationships and partnerships across science, product, and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in analytics, thinks strategically, is able to make challenging trade-offs (supply vs. demand, long-term vs. short-term, low risk vs. high risk), and can deftly navigate between complex technical topics and strategic problems to deliver business impact.  If you’re sharp, collaborative, resourceful, and can communicate complex ideas with ease, we’d like to talk to you.

As your team will be distributed, a moderate amount of travel will be required.

  • Build, mentor, train, and lead a high-performing team of data scientists
  • Be the data-driven owner and thought partner for the performance and growth of your regions

  • Skilled at running cross-functional relationships and communicating with leadership across multiple organizations
  • Willingness to collaborate and communicate with others to drive cross-team and cross-organization initiatives forward

Benefits:

  • In addition to 11 observed holidays, salaried team members have unlimited paid time off, hourly team members have 15 days paid time off
