The Kubernetes Platform Team is responsible for the compute platform that all Lyft engineers rely on to build reliable and scalable microservices. We provide standardized infrastructure that helps software developers move fast, while still giving them the flexibility they need to experiment within their teams. We are looking for leaders to guide this platform team as they create an exceptional development experience for all Lyft engineers. This is a high impact role, as your work will have a multiplicative effect across engineering, and contribute directly to the rapid evolution of our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering team responsible for Lyft’s Kubernetes Platform
  • Create a vision for our compute infrastructure that accelerates Lyft’s engineering teams
  • Work across engineering to build relationships with other teams, and support platform teams, e.g. Machine Learning Platform, building on top of Kubernetes
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members
  • Build teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other
  • Work with the Lyft recruiting team to hire potential candidates from diverse backgrounds

Experience:

  • You have experience managing infrastructure teams and supporting large-scale cloud-based systems
  • You have experience guiding teams through planning, prioritization, and execution of work while maintaining a balance between reliability, cost, and usability
  • You have experience leading engineers at all levels, and you’re great at guiding them through their career development
  • You’re comfortable collaborating with teams across Lyft and creating infrastructure products with great user experience
