Lyft is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, highly motivated individual to join the Public Policy team as External Affairs Operations Manager. In this role you will be primarily responsible for managing the company’s campaign finance compliance, lobbying reporting, and government relations ethics program. This position will work closely with the Government Relations, Legal, Compliance and Public Engagement teams, in addition to other executive leaders within Lyft. You should be a self-starter but able to take direction easily and with a good attitude. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, develop, implement, track, and manage a robust, multi-jurisdictional campaign finance and public policy compliance program
  • Understand, research, and provide strategic advice on Federal, state, and local campaign finance laws and lobbying reporting requirements
  • Meet political compliance objectives by forecasting requirements, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Work closely with Government Relations and Legal teams and outside legal counsel to advise members of the Public Policy team on campaign finance and political ethics
  • Keep the Public Policy leadership team informed of compliance and ethics issues as they arise

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years relevant political compliance experience at a mid- to large-size law firm or in-house at a technology company; J.D. preferred
  • Outstanding writing, research, and interpersonal skills.  
  • Strong oral advocacy and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally to achieve maximum compliance while minimizing the impact of compliance on the business
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, challenging environment where decisions you make will have a large impact
  • Proficiency working in a Mac environment, and specifically with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Dropbox, Excel, Outlook and Word
