Lyft is looking for an experienced and values driven leader to join as our Head of Employee Relations and Workforce Policies.  In this role, you will drive Lyft’s success by bringing your employee relations expertise to Lyft’s leadership team and helping us maintain our culture as we grow. You will provide thought leadership in developing Lyft’s workplace policies and practices, strengthen managers and team members through training and coaching, and roll up your sleeves to tackle investigations. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to make sound judgment calls and display the highest  level of responsibility, confidentiality, integrity and professionalism. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Lyft's workplace policies and practices in close partnership with Lyft's Legal and People teams
  • Lead a team of high performing Employee Relations Managers 
  • Conduct and lead complex investigations related to employee claims and advise leaders and HR Business Partner teams
  • Conduct HR investigations and own them end-to-end; ensure they’re handled consistently across the company
  • Provide counsel and coaching to managers and team members at an individual level, and by developing training offerings that can scale
  • Act as a true thought leader by understanding key internal and external trends in employee relations, and proactively driving continuous improvement across the company
  • Interprets policies and procedures, incorporating knowledge of state and federal employment laws. (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO) and practices and provides recommendations to resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities; act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and division business initiatives

Experience:

  • 10+ years of HR experience; experience in employee relations, inclusion and diversity, or HR business partner roles preferred
  • 5+ years as a people manager effectively developing and leading high-performing teams 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong working knowledge of state and federal employment laws including but not limited to, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII
  • JD or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience building and improving workplace policies and practices
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong problem-solver, with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Extremely attentive to detail, with superb oral and written communication skills
  • Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
