We are looking for a creative, mission driven, learning experience designer with experience working across multiple instructional modalities and is deeply passionate about impacting adult learning at scale. You will have the opportunity to help our teams grow by developing a learning experience that helps them become successful operators in a processed centered environment in their journey with Lyft - and beyond.

The Learning Experience Designer will be responsible for creating meaningful and memorable learning experiences that meets the needs of our teams to continuously improve their capabilities. Our community is diverse and this designer must be comfortable supporting a wide range of learning styles, language preferences and regional needs. This role will own the creation of content in multiple formats, including interactive eLearning, videos, instructor-led content and other supporting resources. The role requires an individual that can innovate, move quickly, and firmly believes in unification through simplification. 

Responsibilities:

  • Take big complex ideas and design learning content and experiences that are simple, accessible, relevant, and easily implemented
  • Experience simplifying and translating material content for an audience that may not be technical. Help craft the written and visual story to meet our learner needs
  • Work outside the traditional classroom space and create bite-sized learning experience that enable and inspire immediate behavioral change.
  • Demonstrate your skills with cross-functional partnership by listening, consulting, and delivering on the needs of our stakeholders.
  • Write, maintain and update operational education including course outlines for eLearning, and resources for ILT, to ensure employees receive training where and when they need them
  • Pursue a deep understanding of learner roles and work to ensure that learning solutions to meet learner needs
  • Collaborate with SMEs to develop both an empathetic and data-driven deep understanding of employees, their operational educational needs, and their barriers to success
  • Serve as a champion to new learning approaches, technology, and measurement tools to ensure we provide a best-in-class educational experience for our employees - who in turn will best serve our drivers

 Experience:

  • Proven experience in learning experience design and developing high-impact adult learning content
  • Expertise in designing, developing, planning, implementing, and assessing educational content to current industry, adult learning, and train-the-trainer standards
  • Demonstrated experience developing a variety of instructional media including interactive eLearning modules, modularized help, and video-based educational content
  • Proven experience collaborating with subject matter experts and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority
  • Experience working with Operations and Customer Support teams  and demonstrated understanding of unique learning challenges faced in these environments
  • An eye for visual design and a passion for creating great user experiences
  • Able to work on multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Compassionate, customer-centric mindset
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
