Lyft is looking for a motivated Senior Accountant to join our team. This role will be critical in building a world class accounting organization to support our growth. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will partner closely with the Operational Markets & FP&A and provide critical support in ensuring compliance with US GAAP and related accounting rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of general accounting functions, including material components of the P&L (revenue recognition, cost of revenue, etc.) and the balance sheet (A/R, deferred revenue and revenue accruals)
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with close calendar timelines
  • Generate monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement and trial balances and perform consolidations
  • Prepare balance sheet flux analysis
  • Assist with maintenance of chart of accounts in ERP
  • Work with cross-functional business partners to ensure proper compliance within internal systems based on entity setups or changes
  • Assist in external and internal audits, including preparation of audit requests and ongoing support
  • Assist in developing and implementing scalable processes to facilitate timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in documentation/implementation of internal controls and ensure SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
  • Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned

 Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Accounting and CPA is a plus 
  • 4+ years in Accounting, including Big 4 and large multinational organizations experience; public company experience required
  • Experience with intercompany transactions is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills a must
  • Problem solving skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems - NetSuite/Oracle is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate independently and as part of a larger functional team
