Lyft is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Manager of Accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a talent for fostering teams and building a world class accounting organization that supports rapid growth. It’s an excellent opportunity to take charge of a critical Divisional Accounting area as part of the Finance team. You will play a crucial role as you will be responsible for developing/implementing policies for tracking and costing a large and growing pool of company assets and managing direct purchases and related payments. Reporting to the Divisional Controller, you will partner closely with Supply Chain, Operational Markets and FP&A and will provide critical support in ensuring compliance with US GAAP and related accounting rules.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a timely and accurate monthly financial close
  • Oversee general accounting functions, including cost accounting, inventory management, accounts payable and accruals
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing process and system improvements with the goal of decreasing days to close, while also improving team efficiency and scalability
  • Effectively partner with Supply Chain and Operations leadership teams to implement scalable accounting processes related to inventory/asset management and provide critical support ensuring compliance with US GAAP and related accounting rules
  • Ensure asset costing policies are clearly defined and consistently implemented
  • Analyze aging reports and review turnover of inventory/in-process materials for possible impairment and calculate any necessary reserves. 
  • Responsible for ensuring SOX compliance in areas of responsibility
  • Responsible for reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance to US GAAP and Company policies
  • Responsible for overseeing preparation of and reviewing monthly balance sheet flux analysis in areas of responsibility
  • Support internal and external auditors in the periodic review of the Company financial records
  • Ensure accounting team is properly resourced to accomplish objectives
  • Responsible for leading, mentoring and developing direct and indirect reports
  • Manage projects and provide ad-hoc information requests, as needed

 Experience:

  • BS Accounting and CPA/professional accounting qualification 
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting, preferably Big 4 and industry experience; public company experience required 
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP 
  • Ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment, managing multiple and changing priorities while consistently meeting deadlines 
  • Proven track record of making improvements in all areas of accounting 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Experience working in ERP systems (preferably Oracle and NetSuite). ERP implementation is a plus.
  • Must be a hands-on leader, have a strong work ethic, excel in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.
