The Data Analytics Platform team builds tools and services to power our data engineering, analysis, and visualization needs inside of Lyft. Our work includes contributions to open source (e.g. Apache Superset), integration of third-party tools (e.g. Tableau), and development of new user-facing tools to make our fellow engineers more productive. We are an experienced team that takes a lean, customer-focused approach to software development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operate tools and services to support data analytics at Lyft
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge, including open-source projects
  • Respond to production events, work with other engineers to conduct root cause analysis on issues, and determine how we can prevent them in the future
  • Collaborate with data engineers and other customers to understand their requirements and improve our products
  • Write code to integrate third-party tools (such as Tableau, Mode Analytics, etc) with our internal tools and services

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience building backend services (Python, Flask, etc)
  • Passion and experience for full-stack (including frontend: React, Typescript, etc) is a plus
  • Experience with data tools and technologies (DBs, SQL, Hive/Presto, etc) is a plus
