The Open Platform team is expanding Lyft's transportation platform to autonomous vehicles. With Lyft’s open platform, the world's best car manufacturers and self-driving systems can plug into our network of over one million rides per day. Smart dispatching ensures the right vehicle is always dispatched for the right routes and conditions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Contribute in all facets of our development process, including design sprints, research, prototyping, and user interviews
  • Own critical features and code
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
  • Design, architect, and build new solutions to problems that may not have been solved by anyone in the world

Experience: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with python, Go, C++, or equivalent language
  • Experience working with databases
  • Able to think through long-term impacts of key design decisions
  • Great oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment
