Job Description

You will be MongoDB University’s strongest link between the organization and our amazing community of MongoDB learners. You will work closely with our Curriculum Engineers to maintain labs, lessons, and our online course delivery platform and to ensure MongoDB learning resources are engaging and relevant. 

This is an opportunity to help build and shape a world class software education program as we continue to grow and change at a rapid pace. You’ll work with a globally distributed team across California, Austin, New York, Dublin, and Sydney.

Our ideal candidate for this role should have a background in software engineering, delivering or helping with corporate technical training, education through attending events, collaborating on open source software, or supporting users online. 

Responsibilities

Course Operations

  • Manage course logistics and technical content
  • Ensure that learner-facing services are running smoothly
  • Identify, debug and provide solutions to the technical issues of learners
  • Test and escalate any issues or improvements that the course may require
  • Participate in trainings and interactive sessions among internal employees to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Analyse, strategise and implement relevant learners’ feedback
  • Customize the tools that you will use, such as the discussion forums
  • Develop or oversee the production of course handouts and instructional materials
  • Work closely with internal teams to improve the Community experience and encourage moderation best practices on the discussion channels
  • Coordinate with the product team, MongoDB University Curriculum Engineers and SMEs to ensure learner’s success
  • Work with cutting edge technology and support some of the most innovative companies in tech

Advocacy

  • Organize in-person and online events, lead experiments to boost performance in our courses
  • Advocate for MongoDB University learners and the company vision
  • Attend and global education events like MongoDB World and MongoDB .locals and spread awareness about MongoDB University
  • Be a MongoDB evangelist 
  • Scale the MongoDB leaner community to ensure high engagement, satisfaction, and completion rates for our courses

Requirements

  • Software engineering experience within one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, C++, C#, Javascript, node.js, Go, or PHP
  • Experience with databases (e.g. MongoDB, MySQL, or Oracle)
  • An operations background, where you’re familiar with administering operating systems (e.g. Linux, Windows), networks (including firewalls and load balancers), as well as cloud-based resources (e.g. AWS, Azure, OpenStack)
  • Moderate exposure to analyzing and debugging software applications
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A low ego to talent ratio

This role is remote optional until October 31, 2021, we are looking to speak to candidates who plan to be available in Gurugram Office for when we introduce our hybrid model.
