The database market is massive (the IDC estimates it to be $89B+ by 2024!) and MongoDB is at the head of its disruption. The MongoDB community is transforming industries and empowering developers to build amazing apps that people use every day. We are the leading modern data platform and the first database provider to IPO in over 20 years. Join our team and be at the forefront of innovation and creativity.

MongoDB Technical Services Engineers use their exceptional problem solving and customer service skills, along with their deep technical experience, to advise customers and to solve their complex MongoDB problems. Technical Service Engineers are experts in the entire MongoDB ecosystem - database server, drivers, cloud, and infrastructure. This also includes services such as Atlas (database as a service), or Cloud Manager (which helps customers with automation, backup and monitoring of their MongoDB systems). Our engineers combine their MongoDB expertise with passion, initiative, teamwork, and a great sense of humor to help our customers be successful with MongoDB.

You'll be an expert resource on best practices in running MongoDB at scale, whatever that scale may be. You'll be an advocate for customers' needs - interfacing with our product management and development teams on their behalf. And you'll contribute to internal projects, including software development of support tools for performance, benchmarking, and diagnostics.

In this specific role, apart from the MongoDB database, you will be particularly focussing on MongoDB Drivers, Connectors (Spark, Kafka, BI) and MongoDB Realm. In the nutshell, you will help both frontend and backend developers build next generation applications on MongoDB platform.

What you need

  • Application Development experience in Java

  • Experience in working with real time stream processing using Kafka
  • Experience with Serverless computing services such as AWS Lambda, Azure functions
  • Database knowledge including query writing and optimisations
  • Intermediate knowledge of linux including experience with processing log files via commands such as grep, awk, sed

Bonus Points

  • Mobile Development experience (Android, iOS, React Native etc)
  • Experience with Apache Spark
  • Server side troubleshooting
  • Deep understanding of connection pools

Success Measures

  • In 3 months, you’ll have gained a deep understanding of MongoDB and its ecosystem. You will complete New Hire Training
  • In 6 months, you will be comfortable working frontline with our customers. You will also complete the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam
  • In 12 months, you will work on gaining expertise to be a part of a technical experts group within MongoDB ecosystem and will be helping your peer engineers in advance diagnostics. Also, you will be encouraged to handle technical escalations independently

This role is remote optional until February 1, 2021, we are looking to speak to candidates who plan to be available in Gurugram Office for when we introduce our hybrid model.
