The Accounting Specialist will focus on payroll and accounts payable while maintaining complete and accurate records, assist with routine accounting duties, prepare month end journal entries, and assist in month end close.
 

Responsibilities

  • Compiles bi-weekly payroll and prepares summary for review and approval
  • Audit and process all employee expense reports
  • Accounts Payable function
  • Classify and reconcile company credit card transactions
  • Prepare monthly journal entries
  • Responsible for monitoring the accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes for assigned areas
  • Assist with all external audits and W2 reporting
  • Work with accounting team in developing new processes, procedures, and reporting to accommodate growth of company
  • Support internal audit inquiries with detailed reconciliations, memorandums, and investigative work
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Perform other financial tasks as requested by the management team 

  • Required Education, Training & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university preferred
  • Degree in or emphasis on Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in Accounting required
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports
  • Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS accounting and maintaining appropriate accounting records
  • Extremely detail oriented
