The Financial Controller will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, development of internal control policies and procedures, oversight of the US Accounting and Finance Team, and coordination of external audits 

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations including invoicing, A/R, A/P, GL, payroll, cost accounting, fixed assets accounting and revenue recognition
  • Approve regular bi-weekly payrolls and other out of cycle payrolls
  • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Approve the release of bank payments
  • Support month-end and year-end close process, prepare and publish timely monthly and annual financial statements
  • Manage accounting/finance team members, including hiring, training and support as needed
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
  • Work with outside counsel and resident agent to incorporate entities in various US States and manage annual filings
  • Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders and pinpoint potential weak areas
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports for the annual audit and tax process
  • Maintain and manage all corporate insurance programs
  • Lead all external audits, including, but not limited to the annual financial and 401(k) audits
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance, manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Provides support for business executives, senior leadership, finance team and other support functions
  • Works together with the Group‘s finance team in consolidation, management reporting and accounting policy development processes
  • Communication with bank for daily activity
  • Additional controller duties and special projects as necessary
  • Participate in 401(k) retirement plan fiduciary oversight
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad financial planning, accounting and company/department budgeting experience with examples of innovative thinking and application to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Outstanding business acumen and critical thinking
  • Able to consolidate, analyze and communicate financial reports to executive leadership
  • Collaborative team leader with a strong drive to create a positive and inspiring work environment
  • Creating financial statements in line to IFRS requirements, but in case no such experience—willingness to learn
  • Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor‘s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Capacity and willingness to communicate and be a part of cross border team
  • Compliance-oriented
  • Proficiency in accounting software and other applications/tools
  • People management and training skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate with senior management
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability for to travel abroad to Europe annually
