Nortal in the Middle East region has about 50 employees who are top-level experts from 10+ nationalities, working in different offices  - the main office in Muscat KOM, a small office in Dubai, Riyadh, and customer offices in the ministries, such as the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion or Secretary-General for Taxation.

We are now looking for a Product Owner who is accountable for designing the solution in the eGovernment space by owning the product backlog and being responsible for making prioritisation, feature scope, feature design and major technical decisions.

You will be responsible for breaking product vision down into user stories, prioritising and defining product features and functionality, measuring and reporting impact against agreed KPIs, and ensuring the product vision is realised.

The role requires being onsite for the first 3 months and later becomes hybrid with occasional business trips.

What you will do:

  • Own a core product end-to-end: collecting user insights, testing and validating assumptions, prioritisation, delivery and iterations.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Solution Architects to ensure that the product is delivered on time, to scope, and within budget and profitability targets. ​
  • Own and prioritise the product backlog, gather and validate product requirements, and document epics, stories and acceptance criteria for product delivery.
  • Lead a product delivery team of engineers and designers within an agile environment, ensuring the team has a clear understanding and are working towards the product vision, scope, priorities, sprint goals etc.​
  • Monitor product delivery impact on objectives, reporting progress to business stakeholders (product demos, delivery reports etc).
  • Identify potential product opportunities and communicate with Project Manager for further exploration and evaluation​.
  • What you will need:

  • You have 5+ years experience in product ownership/management.
  • You have domain knowledge in eGovernment space and/or large-scale digital transformation programme.
  • You have strong background in business and/or system analysis.
  • You are comfortable with lots of ambiguity and shifting priorities. 
  • You have strong empathy for customers, and can identify their current and future needs. 
  • You have willingness to spend at least 50% of time on business travelling to Egypt especially in the early stages of the programme.
