The Role

As a Color, Material, and Finish (‘CMF”) Designer at Peloton, you will be in charge  of contributing to  the CMF strategies and projects for all hard products in our core line.

Working hand in hand on the ID team side by side with Engineering and Sourcing to develop a CMF strategy for our long term road map.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Research consumer lifestyle and product design trends, translating them into cohesive Peloton CMF strategies that strengthen our product branding strategy
  • ability to synthesize research findings and to uncover and articulate insights that will inform and inspire design
  • Develop a master sample chip library that is unique to Peloton
  • Knowledge in materials and manufacturing processes
  • Work with material vendors to develop both advanced material samples and standards for production
  • Work alongside  with engineers, suppliers and manufacturers to develop concepts and prototypes into material technologies suitable for mass manufacturing
  • Work with material vendors to develop both advanced material samples and standards for production
  • exceptional visual, communication and storytelling skills. fluency and confidence in inspiring teammates
  • Survey and approve colors, materials, and finishes at different stages of the development process.
  • Knowledge material trends and forecast innovative material used in a variety of Hard and Soft Goods applications across multiple industries including fitness, cycling, and consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge of consumer electronics, soft goods and fitness industry


Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design
  • 2-3  years of experience in a CMF design role
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and KeyShot
  • Able to travel to shows and suppliers both domestically and internationally.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working  with foreign manufacturing and supply partners to bring products to market


Bonus Qualifications

  • Fitness industry experience
  • Advanced surfacing with Alias, or Rhino
  • Adobe Premiere & Flash
  • Personal interest in wellness or fitness
