ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role is responsible for leading all reliability testing and validation efforts on-going within an individual product line, as well as being informed/consulted on all non-related hardware testing.
  • Collaborate with our Taiwan team on test execution and development abroad. Will require morning/evening calls. Excellent communication skills (Mandarin a plus).
  • Design, build, and automate custom test rigs/fixtures to stress products at the system, subsystem, and component level to prove reliability metrics during product development.
  • Transfer and scale testing methodology/equipment from the US lab to Peloton’s global footprint.
  • Work with product management teams to define reliability targets for new products.
  • Lead engineering efforts in creating and maintaining test plans and schedules for new product development and sustaining engineering activities.
  • Perform product validation and verification with off-the-shelf testing equipment as well as custom built machinery.
  • Write/document test reports. Prepare report summaries for product development milestone reviews.
  • Mentor junior team members in engineering best practice and technology application.
  • Delegate and oversee junior engineering team members for various product development tasks.
  • Use six sigma tools for root cause/failure analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and prioritize work queues.
  • Monitor and implement test processes and data flow.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain lab equipment and inventory.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Candidate must be familiar with motors, dynamometers, rotating machinery, power analyzers, and vibration analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years equivalent work experience. 
  • The candidate must have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.  M.S. preferred.
  • National Instruments LabVIEW certification preferred (CLAD, CLD, CLA).  Six sigma certification preferred.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 3D Modeling (Solidworks), Statistical Analysis (Python, R, Minitab), Automation Skills (LabVIEW), experience with NI data acquisition systems, PLC programming experience a plus. 
  • Ability to read/create mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with reliability growth modeling.
