As part of the Immersive Healthcare Sales team at Penumbra, you will identify, negotiate and manage strategic relations with new and existing customers while effectively managing and developing a team of Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists. You will work with the Director of Sales, as well as your direct reports (Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists), on a daily basis to ensure superior customer service and utilization of Immersive Healthcare products while meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual sales plans.

We are looking for someone near a major airport on the West Coast or within the Central US (Denver, SF Bay Area, greater LA, Minneapolis, Chicago, etc.)

What You'll Work On


  • Leadership and Development
  • Manage and develop a team of Territory Managers and Clinical Specialists to increase sales, drive utilization, and customer satisfaction with Immersive Healthcare products
  • Select, manage, train, and develop staff. Establish objectives and assignments and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans. 
  • Ensure Territory Managers and Clinical Specialist team members are educated on new products, competition, and changing customer landscape.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent. Ensure focus and alignment with functional and company goals. Provide team members with continuous feedback and coaching using talent and performance management tools.
  • Manage team to create a dynamic, supportive and cohesive environment.
  • Establish a system of communication with team members to ensure proper execution of business plans and achievement of quarterly objectives.
  • Commit to travel as necessary for position and coaching/management of team members.

  • Customer Relationships
  • Identify regional sales opportunities, developing sales strategies and present to key decision makers in order to aid in business development.
  • Develop relationships with existing and prospective customers and other KOLs.
  • Actively partner with inside team to assist and develop processes for new product launches.
  • Participate in C-Suite level conversations to facilitate new business opportunities.

  • Planning
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in local, regional and national meetings and trade shows.
  • Review market analysis across regional area to determine market potential within specific customer and market segments.
  • Establish, implement, and monitor sales and marketing plan for regional business based on customer needs and focused approaches that align with the goals of the Company.
  • Complete other special projects or assignments as requested.

  • Administrative
  • Maintain accurate record of sales expenses, customer files and field sales reports required, communicating required information as needed.
  • Hold Territory Manager team accountable for sales quota, providing guidance and constructive feedback as necessary.
  • Incorporate and utilize Integrity Selling or other company-assigned multi-step selling process for regional management.
  • What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or marketing or advanced clinical degree with 4+ years of direct sales experience in medical device. Strong preference given to medical device sales in rehab market.   
  • 3+ years’ experience managing a sales team within the last five years.
  • A proven track record of success managing sales activities and goal achievements to multiple call points is essential. 
  • Capital equipment sales experience a plus.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess integrity, initiative and excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills highly desired.
  • Strong clinical, technical and organizational skills; ability to function in a busy, demanding and competitive environment; outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills to build cross- functional relationships with diverse audiences.
  • Experience with use of technology in rehabilitation.
