General Description:
The Manager, Society and Customer Engagement Marketing, will drive customer engagement for programs and society meetings. This person will have significant interaction with cross functional teams, the field-based sales force, medical societies, society leadership and must work collaboratively to expand Penumbra’s presence on the podium. To be successful in this role, we anticipate significant (80%) travel with overnight stays will be required. Therefore, when reviewing applicants, priority will be given to those near a major airport in one in the Central and Eastern Regions.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Lead national and regional strategy for targeted initiatives through society engagement, local, regional, and national conference support.
•Collaborate with cross functional teams to execution of company objectives with program and society partnerships.
•Collaborate with Penumbra Chief Medical Officer, Clinical and Product Marketing team to determine podium, abstract and manuscript strategy.
•Collaborate with National Medical Societies and Penumbra’s Medical Education team for partnership in physician and physician in training education.
•Lead the transition from virtual medical society meetings to in person attendance.
•Proactively prioritize, identify, assess, and critically summarize relevant scientific and medical literature across therapeutic area.
•Synthesize, assess, and communicate potential impact of key findings to internal stakeholders.
•Be the expert in procedural knowledge, messaging and collateral that is relevant in the medical society community.
•Be the expert in clinical data related to the particular therapy and stay current with data to incorporate into planning.
•Drive understanding of patient & clinician insights through KOL interaction.
•Identify, organize and collaborate with Penumbra events team to execute local/regional tradeshows & conferences and other meetings to promote product.
•Establish and foster relationships with key customers and key opinion leaders at the regional and national level to enable podium representation of Penumbra products.
•Assist in anticipating and responding to the needs of customers, competitive market updates, new techniques and best practices, for relevant podium representation.
•Collect and share intelligence with global marketing team on relevant competitive products, activities and/or therapies for relevant products as presented during society meetings and conferences.
•Ensure that all customer engagement activities conform to company guidelines and local laws.
•Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
•Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.
•Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.
•Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum education and experience:
•Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years progressively responsible experience managing various facets of society and customer engagement in the medical device field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience.
•Willingness and ability to travel overnight 80%+ of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
•Experience developing and executing strategic customer initiatives and growth plans. MBA/MPH/PhD degree a plus, may be substituted with relevant experience 4+ year of experience in a medical device field-based role and/or marketing.
•Relevant experience in the cardiovascular medical device industry preferred.
•Skills and Knowledge: Sales, marketing and/or market development experience.
•Strong team player who can incorporate input from others and can generate consensus through inclusion.
•Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic team based environment.
•Strong thinker and creative thinker who is intellectually curious. Sound decision making capabilities.
•Good organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
•Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Extensive scientific acumen, for use in various circumstances, including in working with internal stakeholders and with physicians in identifying evidence gaps and opportunities.
•Extensive knowledge of ACCME, AdvaMed, EUcomed, FDA and ISO regulations.
•Ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
•Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, clinical, medical education, global marketing team & sales partners.
•Ability to lead cross-functional discussions, establish strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.
•Self-driven, taking initiative to bring new ideas to the team.
•Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including sales & marketing leadership.
•Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.

Working Conditions:
General remote work environment. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, and to use a computer, sitting for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Business travel 80% or more (U.S.) with overnight stays at least 50-75% of the time (based on geographic assignment). Able to lift 20 pounds. Extended periods of time doing computer-based work. Hearing, sight and speaking ability. Ability to use computers and CT reconstruction programming. Ability to travel extensively by car and plane. Must have valid driver’s license for state of residency and active vehicle insurance policy. Wear lead apron for long periods of time (2-3hrs on average). Ability to operate a moving vehicle. Ability to work in Cath Labs or OR’s with radiation exposure Ability to conduct company business outside of the typical Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, work-schedule.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES: Infectious disease; radiation; blood borne pathogens Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Annual Base Salary Range:  $87,459 - $162,195
