We are looking for an experienced negotiator and pragmatic problem solver with a passion for, and experience with, privacy, security, and technology. You must have superb verbal and written communication skills and be adept at navigating complex and nuanced data protection issues in a strategic manner. This role is based in Dublin, CA, Atlanta, GA, or Bellevue, WA. This is not a remote position.

AS SENIOR CORPORATE COUNSEL - PRIVACY, YOU WILL :

  • Draft, negotiate, and close privacy and data protection agreements with customers, including enterprise customers in highly regulated industries, such as financial services and healthcare, vendors and partners
  • Work closely with global sales, product, security and partner teams on transactions that drive the company’s revenue
  • Support commercial and procurement attorneys on data protection issues in negotiations 
  • Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Evaluate the impact of U.S. and international legislation, regulations and industry guidelines involving privacy and security in order to maintain on ongoing understanding of such data protection regulations
  • Develop and deliver training on contract templates, playbooks and customer facing collateral covering data protection and security issues. 
  • Provide sound advice and guidance on legal and business-related issues to senior business leaders
  • Support continuous improvements of templates, policies and processes to help streamline, simplify and automate the contracting processes

OUR IDEAL SENIOR CORPORATE COUNSEL - PRIVACY WILL HAVE :

  • 7+ years of substantive privacy legal experience, preferably in-house with a successful, high-growth enterprise SaaS company, with 3+ years commercial contracting experience.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with large enterprise companies
  • Knowledge of worldwide data protection regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA
  • Knowledge of financial services regulations, including GLBA and 23 NYCRR 500
  • Working knowledge of SaaS industry cybersecurity concepts and security certifications
  • Experience negotiating security and privacy commitments with U.S. state and federal entities
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
  • The ability to think and execute both strategically and tactically
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills
  • Experience scaling sales, procurement and legal processes and policies for a rapidly growing organization
  • The ability to work with a wide variety of people, at all levels in the organization, in a fast-paced environment
  • Service-oriented, professional and strong integrity
  • Occasional travel may be required, including to California
