Join the Snowflake Finance team and help us scale our finance and accounting operations with our rapid growth! We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support our rapidly growing finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this position requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to build and lead teams and manage general ledger functions in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. You will oversee projects involving the implementation of new accounting systems and transactions, recommend and lead high visibility optimization projects that will help Snowflake scale as we grow, and use your analytical skills to ask probing questions to ensure our accounting activities are GAAP and SOX compliant. 

AS AN ACCOUNTING MANAGER YOU WILL:

  • Own complex accounting areas such as leases in accordance with ASC 842 and hedge accounting in accordance with ASC 815, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, disclosure schedules for financial filings, and fluctuation analysis to help management with business decisions.
  • Oversee operational processes and accounting owned by the accounting team in India (including fixed assets, investments, cash, prepaid expenses, and intangibles).
  • Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, research and supplemental reporting.
  • Collaborate with other Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly close matters and other initiatives.
  • Coordinate solutions to problems of moderate complexity with other departments and business units, and communicate issues and resolutions to management and affected areas/departments.
  • Work on process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness on a continuous basis through various techniques using technology solutions and automation.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and train your team; take an active interest in their career and development and find ways to continue their growth and development.
  • Ensure all key internal controls over operations and financial reporting are in place and operating in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations.
  • Participate in other assignments and ad hoc projects as required.

YOU WILL HAVE :

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with public accounting experience preferred. 
  • 8-10+ years of progressive responsibilities applying US GAAP standards, audit experience a plus.
  • Ability to execute and proactively follow up.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and leverage technology to build scalable processes, gain efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve outcomes.
  • Shown ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the management team and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Workday ERP or other large ERP.
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Experience with hedge accounting and ASC 842 lease accounting a plus.
