Our Startup Program is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will be part of a small team of Snowflake veterans that is working with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to help startups looking to build their product on top of Snowflake.

Startup Program Engineers advise startups on Machine Learning and Application solutions on Snowflake.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Create momentum and drive adoption of the platform through your interactions with developers building machine learning workflows and products on Snowflake.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Snowflake’s Sales organization to develop proof of concept applications and present technical demonstrations 
  • Collect a library of technical assets to help Startups scale quickly 
  • Be an internal advocate for the needs of startups while working with cross functional teams including Product Management, Marketing, Support, Engineering, Program Management, and Partners to evolve Snowflake’s Application and Machine Learning Strategies
  • Own and drive relationships with external technical audiences of all kinds — from engineer to CTO — to understand business objectives and translate requirements into solutions.
  • Influence the direction of our products by gathering insights from our developer community

YOU SHOULD:

  • Have academic and/or professional experience in Machine Learning core competencies (Feature engineering, Model building, deployment, drift detection) and experience with common libraries (Pytorch, Tensorflow,SKLearn, XGBoost, Keras)
  • Experience with some common machine learning problem spaces, such as: NLP, Recommendation Systems, Customer Segmentation, Unstructured data analysis (e.g. image recognition), generating predictive models, risk modeling, graphs/network analysis
  • Fluency with common programming languages and developer tools/IDEs (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, R, Jupyter, VS Code)
  • Experience with building scalable architectures to operationalize on cloud provider platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • A great communicator, comfortable explaining complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Interested in solving open ended business problems with a combination of technology and creative thinking.
  • Capable of supporting a sales lifecycle and driving positive outcomes in customer-facing conversations
