COUNSEL, TELECOMMUNICATIONS

Starlink, our revolutionary satellite constellation, is delivering low-latency broadband internet worldwide. As Telecommunications Counsel, you will help the business understand and navigate applicable laws and regulations in the United States and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise the Starlink team on the laws, regulations, and policies that impact the business in the United States and foreign jurisdictions
  • Analyze legal and regulatory risks, and communicate them to the business and technical teams to enable sound compliance decisions
  • Develop tools for the legal, business, and technical teams to understand legal and regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions
  • Monitor legal and policy developments to the Starlink business

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years of experience with regulatory compliance matters in the telecommunications industry related to broadband and/or satellite services
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state or foreign jurisdiction

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Fluency in English and proficiency in at least one other language
  • Knowledge of telecommunications business and regulatory issues outside of the U.S.
  • Prior experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
