HARDWARE TEST ENGINEER (SWARM PRODUCTION)

We are looking for a Hardware Test Engineer of our integrated systems (electro-mechanical assemblies and integrated satellite) for our groundbreaking constellation of Starlink satellites. This engineer would work on a small team and would be responsible for solving systemic production issues of integrated hardware, running root cause of failures from end to end, and working to drive process changes for continually improving product quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the recovery of discrepant hardware discovered during integrated hardware testing
  • Develop fault tree analysis to isolate and disposition discrepant hardware based on test data and results
  • Front line integrated system test engineering support for production
  • Disposition failed systems and facilitate debugging of failed integrated systems and drive root cause of failures
  • Drive higher production yield and drive upstream process improvements
  • Document failure modes and use data to continually improve quality

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience working with digital or mixed-signal designs (internships and school projects qualify)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency with programming and automation/scripting languages (Python, C++, SQL, Matlab)
  • Experience with automated production test systems/executives
  • Experience in a fast-paced, iterative design environment within the consumer electronics, mobile handset, medical device, aerospace, marine or automotive industries
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment
  • Experience with electro-mechanical and vehicle manufacturing processes and assembly

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10%
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as need
