HARDWARE TEST TECHNICIAN (STARLINK)

Seeking exceptional Hardware Test Technician to simulate the rigors of long-duration operation in the vacuum of near-Earth space, the rigors of rocket launch, and the toughest terrestrial environments. You will help provide broadband access to underserved people across the world via Starlink. In the process you will literally leave your fingerprints on cutting-edge propulsion, radio, laser, power hardware and the production machines that build it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build high-quality wire harnesses, PCBAs, test racks, robotics, and environmental simulation equipment
  • Support production and qualification by troubleshooting hardware and software, updating documentation, training line technicians, and performing schedule maintenance
  • Manage workload in order to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to critical requests
  • Interpret a variety of sources ranging from controlled, released documentation to informal sketches
  • Identify design gaps, ask directed questions, apply skill and experience to resolve them, and update documentation to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and orderly work area

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate 
  • 1+ years of experience in electromechanical assembly

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree or 3+ years’ experience working with hardware testing
  • Hands-on experience fabricating and debugging harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, printed circuit board assemblies, and test stations.
  • Ability to use written and oral communication skills to continually improve designs, processes, working environment, and team morale
  • Excellent attention to detail and insistence on verifying work
  • Experience with NASA STD 8739.4, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 qualifications
  • Experience with electromechanical build processes including iron and hot-air soldering; wire crimping and stripping; machine and hand drilling, shaping, cutting, and joining; 3D plastic printing
  • Electrical debug tools including: the use of multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, and network analyzer
  • Experience with software and tools including: Windows and Linux operating systems; SVN and git configuration control; JIRA, Confluence, and TeamCenter content management systems; Altium, Mentor, and NX computer-aided design; Python and BASH scripting; text-based and graphical user interfaces; use of a hand truck and forklift
  • Basic knowledge of electronics theory and principles

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
