SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

MASTER SCHEDULER, STARLINK GLOBAL ROLLOUT

SpaceX’s Starlink global rollout team is looking for a passionate Master Scheduler to develop, maintain, and communicate our highly-dynamic schedules for market activation around the globe. Becoming the world’s first truly global internet provider is challenging and complex. It requires a broad set of internal teams across the business and technical teams working together through interdependencies and unknowns/first-of-its kind efforts. No two countries are the same in terms of schedule, interdependencies and requirements. We drive aggressive schedules, but need to be clear about the distinction between aggressive targets and realistic forecasts. In many functions, the schedule is heavily dependent on external, governmental parties acting.

As the master scheduler, you will be at the nexus of all of these activities and will work to construct, maintain, communicate, and effect changes across multiple plans in parallel. You’ll be empowered to identify gaps and smart opportunities in our plans, implement scheduling process improvements, and drive consistency across the Starlink organization. Our ideal candidate is a flexible self-starter who enjoys creating and improving processes, working in a fast-pace environment, solving challenges/puzzles, a mix of business and technical topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Rapidly learn our subject matter with sufficient depth such that you are able to critically evaluate a wide array of operations and offer process improvements
  • Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and present critical path schedules and schedule narratives to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide proactive schedule coordination across internal teams to ensure that rollout schedules reflect reality, identify interdependencies and that key deliverables will be completed on time
  • Make recommendations to leadership for adjustments to global rollout plans
  • Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and brief potential constraints on a periodic basis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or other technical discipline
  • 2+ years of professional experience with project planning and integrated master scheduling using Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, or Primavera
  • SQL programming experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness by thinking strategically and critically and building broad, cross-functional relationships
  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage program plans and schedule
  • 4+ years of production management, integrated operations, or complex project ownership experience
  • Experience with medium to large sized (4000-8000 lines) projects
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI) and with data analysis in Excel, VBA, Python, and/or SQL

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX sites, as needed; ~25%
  • Must be willing to work long hours and occasional weekends when necessary to support proposal or critical project timelines

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
