METROLOGY SPECIALIST 

The Metrology Specialist will serve as a liaison between several organizations at SpaceX to ensure the continuous calibration and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical test and measurement equipment for the world-class SpaceX facilities.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Communicate with internal customers about the status of their equipment
  • Communicate with vendors about outsourcing of services
  • Database entry and integrity maintenance
  • Receiving of outsourced equipment and technical documentation
  • Creation of purchase orders for calibration services
  • Coordinate calibration services

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing, shipping, logistics, or aerospace environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Microsoft office tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude maintained through trying situations
  • Experience in a fast paced office environment
  • Basic knowledge of test equipment and ISO quality system requirements
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as business needs dictate

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
