PROCESS PLANNER, LAUNCH OPERATIONS & INTEGRATION

As a process planner with the Vandenberg launch team, you will be giving technicians the instructions they need maximize operational efficiency and production output. This role allows for involvement among multiple groups in launch integration and pad operations. It requires creativity to balance preventative maintenance, launch operations, fabrication and testing activities. Familiarization with operations, hardware and schedule will help to remove blockers and support the team working toward the highest priority items.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and revise planning documents
  • Author and illustrate technician instructional content for work orders using photos and 3D models
  • Strategize efficient methods of task execution while understanding operational impacts of all activities
  • Communicate frequently to assist in preparing proactive schedules to assist management in making decisions regarding execution timelines
  • Revise and troubleshoot all aspects of process planning
  • Review all aspects of planning documents and approve, as part of the larger approval process
  • Maintain long-term authoring projects, while at the same time addressing a stream of real-time planning requests
  • Develop and comply with planning release date targets
  • Iterative improvements to planning documents to improve quantity and quality of production data captured

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree
  • 1+ years of experience reading technical drawings and schematics

 PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Strong analytical, project management, computer, communication, and writing skills (typing, spelling, grammar)
  • Ability to work under deadlines and to deliver in the midst of changes in project direction
  • Professional production coordination or integration experience.
  • Ability to creatively overhaul and re-design any project or workflow to optimize comprehension, while meeting requirements
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse co-workers and personalities in engineering, production, and management; ability to have insight into their changing needs
  • Ability to quickly learn, absorb, and apply technical content to further develop understanding of electronics assembly and testing processes
  • 1+ years of experience in infrastructure fabrication/maintenance, with a focus in assembly, welding, construction, integration, supply chain, machining and tooling

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass Vandenberg Air Force background check
  • Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations as necessary
  • Work schedule may vary depending on site operational needs, and flexibility is required
