STARLINK ANALYST - 3rd SHIFT

As a Starlink Analyst, you will be responsible for operating the growing Starlink Network as it scales to millions of users around the globe. You will manage changes and maintenances required to improve and sustain service for users while responding to real-time anomalies – mitigating their impact before significant service degradation occurs. You will work with subsystem responsible engineers, software engineers, guidance navigation and control engineers, and network engineers to develop alerts, mitigations, and upgrades to orbital and terrestrial assets and core Starlink algorithms. Through continuous improvement, you will drive process and automation upgrades to the point of minimal manual intervention.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Detect and triage emerging anomalies on satellites, ground stations, terrestrial networking hardware, and core Starlink algorithms
  • Provide centralized awareness and management of routine and emergency maintenance performed by SpaceX personnel and partner contractors
  • Measure, preserve, and improve the uptime and performance of the Starlink network
  • Closely collaborate across engineering disciplines to create highly operable and maintainable infrastructure
  • Follow and improve processes used for managing the Starlink network
  • Support individual customer and enterprise escalations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline OR 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Development experience in Python, Bash, SQL or other scripting languages

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to take on projects that require taking initiative and developing new expertise
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
  • Experience with debugging complex systems with data analysis
  • Experience creating documentation and procedures
  • Experience in mission-critical operations where outstanding attention to detail is required to ensure success

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for on-shift rotations
  • This position requires working 7 PM - 7 AM; 3 days on, 4 days off; then 4 days on, 3 days off
