TECHNICAL PROJECT LEAD (STARLINK)

SpaceX team is looking for an experienced and driven Technical Project Lead for network reliability and network software development. The candidate will draw upon their technical background and project leadership skills to drive complex and challenging software projects end to end, with the goal of providing better internet access to unconnected users worldwide. The tools you build will allow Starlink to expand its user base, improve its user experience, and serve unconnected populations across the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ownership of project definition, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, triage, release management, metrics gathering, and communication to wider audiences
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams and leaders across all systems – Network Software, Payload software, Bus Software, RF / Antenna Hardware, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Silicon / FPGA, Digital Signal Processing, Thermal, Hardware, Ground Network, Network Operations – as well as interface with customer facing teams such as sales, sales engineering, consumer go to market, and support
  • Own the business outcome of one specific initiative (network reliability, increasing user speeds, new capability bring-up, etc)
  • Triage, prioritize, track and drive to completion features and fixes associated with this goal, across a large number of teams
  • Identify critical path, maintain a schedule and roadmap, communicating it and any associated bottlenecks weekly to a broader audience
  • Working with teams across all systems – Network Software, Payload software, Bus Software, RF / Antenna Hardware, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Silicon / FPGA, Digital Signal Processing, Thermal, Hardware, Ground Network, Network Operations – as well as interface with customer facing teams such as sales, sales engineering, consumer go to market, and support

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another STEM discipline
  • 5+ years professional experience in project management, program management, mission management, logistics, or other field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior experience with full software product lifecycles
  • Demonstrated ability to own projects from start to completion
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Domain-specific experience a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work with SQL and at least one other programming language
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
