TEST SPECIALIST (STARLINK VEHICLE SOFTWARE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate and ensure satellite development test systems and areas are operating properly
  • Build, update, repair and validate bespoke test equipment, servers and network racks
  • First level troubleshooting of system errors by reading and interpreting logged information and electrical/mechanical diagnostics
  • Fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping and assembling connectors
  • Develop and document procedures for execution, maintenance, assembly, and anomaly handling
  • Operate test systems using custom graphical and textual interfaces, written in Bash and Python, and running on Linux operating systems
  • Aid in efforts to uncover root-cause of equipment failures and develop permanent resolution on issues found during test operations
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment,
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Associate's degree in an engineering field or 2+ years of experience working in a hands-on technical position 
  • 1+ years of experience performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or electronic engineering technology
  • Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
  • Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working and administering a Linux environment
  • Developed and deployed software that has been used in real world projects (Python preferred)
  • Basic understanding of networking, including VLANs, namespaces and routing
  • Experience with radio frequency components, links and wiring
  • Comfortable with basic mechanical tools and tasks, such installing subassemblies and racking equipment.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Experience operating a crane or similar heavy equipment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
