A global network of local creatives is what makes Culture Trip different. We love working with people all over the world who are passionate about sharing what’s special and unique about the place they live in or call home.

We’re looking for experienced freelance filmmakers across North, Central and South America to create travel and culture stories that speak to our audience of young, culturally engaged travelers.

Your profile:

  • You are a "one-person band" type filmmaker - a proactive, technically-excellent shooter and on-the-ground story producer.
  • Experience shooting and producing documentary and commercially-viable projects.
  • Visual storytelling comes naturally to you: you are observant, think in sequences, have a good eye for composition and shoot for the edit.
  • Comfortable leading a production, conducting interviews, pursuing spontaneous moments and obtaining all soundbites necessary to drive the story forward.
  • In-depth knowledge of your region, from local cultures and customs to latest trends.
  • You can transform a brief into an impactful story which serves your community and will resonate with our audience.
  • You have integrity, curiosity, and genuinely care about your work.
  • You own and can operate your own equipment including a camera (A7S, FS7, GH5, Canon C-Range or better) a stabilization rig (shoulder rig or gimbal) and at least one lavalier mic.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to represent Culture Trip and our mission on set.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Shooting stories which celebrate your city and honor its people.
  • Handling all aspects of on-the-ground production, and collaborating with our in-house team from concept through to delivery.
  • Conducting interviews and recording audio - going beyond the questions and following up to get soundbites.
  • Transforming briefs into three-dimensional stories by chasing spontaneous moments.
  • Uploading footage to our FTP server.
  • Culture Trip is committed to equality of opportunity for all. We strongly believe that diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities, experience, circumstances, abilities and perspectives leads to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our users.
