Demo Software Engineer

As a Demo Engineer you will be driving, designing, and building both real world and visionary use cases using Twilio’s powerful APIs and software platforms such as Flex. 

Who?

A Twilio Demo Engineer will have:

  • + years of experience in a software engineering or similar role 
  • Previous software development experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Backend (Java, C#, Node.js, Python, PHP)
    • Web development (JavaScript, HTML / CSS, frontend frameworks - React, Vue.js, Angular)
    • Experience building with REST APIs
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) and cloud application architecture.
  • An eye for design with some experience in UI/UX 
  • Creative problem solving skills and the ability to work cross functionally
  • The ability to see problems and the creativity needed to find innovative ways to solve those problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills are a huge plus
  • iOS, Android or HTML5 development experience is a plus
  • A BS in CS/SE/EE/IS/MIS or related work experience

  • Educate and mentor customers, partners, and colleagues on what’s possible with Twilio

Be bold

  • Present creative new solutions that enable and inspire innovation
  • Build demos and proof of concepts to demonstrate various use cases for Twilio's APIs

Write it down

  • Create technical content to show customers how to implement specific use cases or best practices for new technologies
  • Distill and communicate customer needs and product feedback to Product Management, Engineering, Marketing and Sales

Why?

The Demo Engineer is a critical part of the Solutions Engineering team and will work closely with our Solutions Engineers globally to help dazzle our customers with demonstrations. You will use your programming skills to create beautiful experiences that tell stories and bring to life the value proposition of the Twilio platform. You will build custom tools and UIs that allow our Solutions Engineers to customize every demo they do for their customers.You will also work cross functionally with Marketing, Product Management and Engineering to ensure that we are always demoing the latest and greatest capabilities, and is aligned to our core marketing messages. 

Twilio customers often share common use cases, but rarely share the same implementation requirements. Each company is unique when it comes to process, technology stacks, and skill. The Twilio Solutions Engineer owns the technical sales process to help demonstrate the best way to use Twilio products to achieve (and often exceed) their goals.
